Opening of the final exhibition of Kizhi open-air museum within the scope of the Museum Opened to the World presentation program took place on November, 22nd in Moscow, in the State Duma of Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation. The museum has presented muscovites Mikhail Skripkin's author's photo-exhibition Kizhi Seasons.
This exhibition devoted to the 40th anniversary of the museum has been organized at the initiative of the Kizhi museum director Elvira Averyanova and at the support of the State Duma deputy Valentina Pivnenko.
In the exhibition opening there have taken part the First Vice-Speaker of the State Duma Lubov Sliska, Committee on problems of the North and the Far East Chairman Valentina Pivnenko, the State Duma committee on culture Vice-Chairman Alexander Tyagunov, the museum director Elvira Averyanova.
Having visited Kizhi, Lubov Sliska has highly rated Mikhail Skripkin's photos and noted that the artist has managed to "see the beauty of the island not through his eyes, but his heart." In her opinion, it is very important for all of us, including deputies of the State Duma, to think of what we leave after us. Therefore, such photos telling about the open-air museum should be presented at exhibitions, in newspapers and magazines.
Lubov Sliska has emphasized, that this photo-exhibition has once again reminded the State Duma deputies of necessity to preserve our cultural heritage and rendering it financial support.
Kizhi Seasons photo-exhibition was exhibited at the State Duma building within one week. Deputies, administrative officers, and visitors had an opportunity to get acquainted with more than 80 works of different genres of architectural, landscape and reportage shooting, macroshooting.
In the near future by results of the exhibition, TV reporters of The Parliamentary Time program and The Russian Federation Today magazine will tell about beauty of our northern reserved island to their readers and audience.
However, citizens of Karelia can also get acquainted with the exhibition, as the most part of works belongs to Kizhi open-air museum, and it means that soon the exhibition will return to the republic.
