Vika, Ltd., (Karelia) plans to construct a sports and tourist mountain-skiing center in Yalguba, Prionezhsky region of Karelia, by 2009, and investments in the project will make 10-12 million euros. It was reported to journalists today by deputy minister of economic development of Karelia Eugeny Kotkin.
The complex will be constructed on the coast of Onego lake. This is 100 percent private project. The feasibility report that will be ready by August or September is being prepared now. The project implementation period is 2008-2009
Eugeny Kotkin has told, that Vika, Ltd., plans to invest its own means equal to 5-6 million euros, and, perhaps, other means will be involved at their partners' expense. Area of territory where the project will be implemented makes 22 hectares.
Yalguba is located 15 km from Petrozavodsk on the coast of the gulf of Onego lake being a natural 7-kilometers long and 500 meters wide boar-racing channel.
The construction plan includes: a hotel complex, cottages, objects of trade and public catering, 4 ski-lifts, skiing slopes, and pieres.
The project is both approved by the head of Karelia, and supported by head of Prionezhsky region local self-government. Administration of Prionezhsky region local self-government gave its agreement in principle on land tenure for the project implementation.
