Cultural forum is an international project based on development of partner relations between Finland and Russia in the field of culture. The first Russian-Finnish forum was held in 2000 in Helsinki (Finland). Since then forums pass in Finland and Russia by turns. This year the eighth cultural forum takes place in Tver.
Within the framework of the forum there will be held thematic seminar for experts of the EU countries concerning activity of the Russian-Finnish forum as an example of cooperation between Russia and Finland in the sphere of culture. By tradition during the forum there will pass thematic seminars, devoted to music and dancing art, tourism, literature, visual kinds of arts, as well as educational projects and cooperation in the sphere of cultural administration.
From the Republic of Karelia in a forum there will take part 18 representatives of republican and municipal establishments of culture (Medvezhiegorsk and Kondopoga regions), National archive of the Republic of Karelia, Karelian Culture School, Museum of Fine Art of Karelia, National Song Ensemble of the Union of Artists of the Republic of Karelia, Children's Art School of Petrozavodsk, National Library of the republic, artists Vladimir and Victoria Zorin, and Inna Kazakova.
The Russian-Finnish forum is not held only with the purpose to increase importance of culture in international cooperation, but also to support development of the given regions by means of culture. Participants of the forum are satisfied with occurrence of the new type of cooperation and ascertain the following: culture is a reflection of features of development of each region.
According to the agreement achieved between Finland and Russia on the forum preparation, the following procedures of participation are defined: the organizing Country offers the basic subject of the cultural forum and declares terms of submission of applications for participation in the forum. The guest country, in turn, looks for specific partners for cultural projects offered by the organizing country. The forum is organized by the Ministry of Education of Finland, Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, culture controls of subjects of the Northwest Federal district, the Finland-Russia Society and Tver region.
