The Hyperborea of Kalevala ethnographic snowmobile expedition across North Karelia came to the end on January 31. Six people on five snowmobiles participated in the expedition.
As the editor of Adrenalinetour.Ru Elena Bogatyryova has told KARELINFORM, in 4 days they have passed 726 km. Participants started from the settlement of Shuezero (Byelomorsk region). Further their way went through the island of Troitsky on Muezero lake, Panozero, which is the oldest village of the White sea coast of Karelia, the village of Juškozero (Kalevala region), settlement of Luusalmi, uninhabited village of Yvalaksha, famous runa-singing village of Voinitsa, Kumio-porog falls, and also a number of uninhabited farms in Häme, Akkola, etc. The expedition route ended in the settlement of Kalevala.
As a result of the route passed there were developed a few snowmobile tours - Northern Break-Through (3 days), A Great Walk (4 days), Hyperborea of Kalevala Expedition (7 days) and Karelian Outing and Kalevala Wilds quad bike safaris.
The expedition was organized by VelT-Karelian Tours, Ltd., (Kalevala) and Hyperborea, Ltd., (Shuezero) travel agencies.
