A joint session of committees on tourism and sports, on culture and on local self-government of the Northwest Association was held in Pskov recently. Head of the department of the Ministry of Economic Development of the republic Vladimir Chehonin participated in it.

Matters at the session concerned development of national art and crafts and workmanships in municipal formations of subjects of the Northwest, about formation of inter-regional tourist products as elements of strategy of tourism development in federal district, the Intellectualization of Industrial and Social Systems of Regions of Northwest Federal District Russian-Belarus partner project.

In particular, regarding joint tourist products, the Ministry of Economic Development of Karelia, committee on tourism of Vologda region and committee on physical training, sports, tourism and youth of Leningrad region were recommended to carry out development of joint inter-regional products on boating, including its active kinds.

It is also necessary to develop new regional and inter-regional excursion routes, having provided there visiting of national arts and crafts enterprises, workmanships and centers of traditional culture in regions of the district.
