On May 1 the first press-conference of the Air (Vozduh) – 2009 festival organizers was held where the new festival site was announced along with the first three names of participants.
The State Committee of the RK on Youth Chairman Maxim A.Mazurovsky and head of the steering committee of Vozduh – 2009 festival, director general of Our Radio Radio station Elena Shaglina have taken part in the press-conference.
In four years the festival became the largest regional open-air festival in Russia, gained the confidence of federal and foreign partners. Vozduh – 2009 festival has become one of the visiting card of our city, and of the republic and a true 'Main Adventure of Our Summer' for tens of thousands of people. This year the festival is included in the schedule of the Year of Youth in the Republic of Karelia approved by the order of the Head of the RK. Our Radio (Nashe Radio) Radio station (Petrozavodsk) and Karelian broadcasting company «Nika» at the support of the State Committee of the RK on Youth are Vozduh – 2009 festival organizers this year.
The anniversary Vozduh – 2009 festival will pass on the new site. Last year at the choice of the site of the festival organizers have taken advantage of its convenient location in the center of Petrozavodsk. However, weather conditions (for the first time in history of the festival it rained) have specified its main disadvantage: the platform has appeared to be prepared insufficiently. Therefore, this year the decision was made on the necessity to change the site of the festival. The organizers searched and have found a huge dry field surrounded by picturesque nature and ready to hold all spectators of the Main Adventure of Karelian Summer. The anniversary Vozduh – 2009 festival will pass on the sports base located in the outskirts of Petrozavodsk. It will be easy to get to the festival, as the new site is only 15 minutes driving from the railway station. Besides, on June 19, 20 and 21 in all city districts there will be organized shuttle-bus transportation to the festival site.
Names of the first participants of the anniversary Vozduh – 2009 festival are already annnonced. These are kings of the Universe punk-rock – Brigadny Podryad, Surganova and the Orchestra band and handsome merry fellows from Latvia – Brainstorm.
