Festival of Karelian amateur theatres
A Box of Talents has passed in the Karelian village of

Oma Paö; drama school
Lokki (Seagull) from Oulu (Finland) have taken part in the festival. The audience especially enjoyed performances of participants of the festival from Pryazha and Vedlozero.
Vladimir Guriev has pointed out special importance of such festivals in giving children and youth access to language and traditional culture of the Karelian people. Head of Vedlozero rural settlement Victor Efremov has expressed gratitude to organizer of the event deputy of the Regional Council of Pryazha national municipal region Nadezhda Kalmykova.
Karelian language was spoken during all events of the festival. Host of the festival Natalia Antonova, chairlady of Young Karelia Karelian Youth Public Organization, has inspired participants with the Karelian proverbs, riddles and stories.
Participants of the meeting exchanged experience, shared impressions on the plays seen, arranged the place for the next festival.
Carrying out of such festivals has become a tradition. Now folklore theatre companies annually stage plays in Karelian language in Kostomuksha, Kalevala, Padany, Essoila, Vidlitsa, Kuitezha.
