On October 29 Head of Karelia Sergey Katanandov has taken part in opening of the new swimming pool and aquapark in Kostomuksha. This sport and recreation center is included in the list of the objects constructed within the scope of activities devoted to preparation for celebrating the 90th anniversary of formation of the Republic of Karelia.
The object is intended for swimming sports activities and recreation. The maximal hour throughput of the swimming pool will allow it to hold up to 90 visitors, and during the day this sports center will render its services to 500 town dwellers.
Total area of the building makes almost 3680 square meters. There's a pool for competitive swimming, massage and a paddling pool with a slide. The relaxing bath is equipped with a counterflow and a hydromassage.
In the building there is also a cafeteria, administrative and household premises, locker rooms, auxiliary and technical premises providing the pool's work.
Construction work according to the contract was performed by experts of the general contracting agency TekomProf, Ltd. During the construction launched in 2006 total amount of financing of the object has made 254,2 million roubles. Budget of the republic for these purposes allocated 107,4 million roubles, 40 million roubles was assigned by the federal budget, and budget of Kostomuksha urban district allocated 106,8 million roubles.
