The festival will open on October, 2nd, on the International day of music. The festival is organized by the Karelian State Philarmonic Society that calld attention of the audience to seven concerts. The first is In the Atmosphere of Shostakovich and it is devoted to two anniversaries: the centenary of Dmitry Shostakovich's birth and to the 70th anniversary of composer Edward Patlaenko who lives in Petrozavodsk.
Alongside with music of these authors, the rich and diverse program of Golden Rove includes chamber and symphonic compositions by Gustav Bengtssona, Giuseppe Verdi, Giacomo Puccini, Astor Piazzolla, Camille Saint-Saлns, Jean Sibelius, Boris Tchaikovsky. Also there will be presented musical-drama stories The Way They Spoke of Love based on Ivan Bunin's stories.
Among the festival guests and participants there are singer Olga Sosnovskaja (Syktyvkar), conductor Mats Liljefors (Sweden), actress Olga Matveyeva and violinist Ariadna Anchevskaya (Moscow), ensemble KammeRana (Norway). Young Moscow musicians Dmitry Tatarkin (guitar) and Tatyana Larina (flute) will make their first tour to Karelia. Within the scope of Golden Rove there will perform the Symphonic orchestra of the philarmonic society and Petrozavodsk actors - pianist Julia Tishkina and Svetlana Sintsova, oboist Vitaly Fartushny, flutist Igor Petryakov, clarnetist Leonid Yanishen, bassoonist Valery Dzyubuk and others.
Concerts will pass in Petrozavodsk and Kondopoga in the Big hall and in foyer of the second floor of the philarmonic society, in the restored hall of Petrozavodsk musical school and in the Creative center of Kondopoga Open Society.
The festival will last till October, 25th.
