Ruskeala marble quarryRuskeala marble quarry is one of the best tourist attractions in Karelia. Decorative light gray marble had been mined here for more 70 years (until the middle of the nineteenth century). This marble was used to decorate churches and palaces of St. Petersburg and its suburbs. Here beauty of the emerald lakes and beauty of marble blocks complete each other successfully.
