Chupa

Pogost Chypa ("pogost" means an administrative and religious center) has been known at least since 1574, when there were 8 farmsteads (homesteads, or "dvor" – a peasant’s house with a plot of land and household buildings). Dedovskaya mine for production of mica, 50 m deep is located nearby Chypa.

The village of Chypa is known by the oldest muscovite mica mining in Russia. There is also a deposit of the moonstone. Chypinskay bay of the White Sea is a fishing place and included in "Karelskoe Pomorje", historical and cultural area.
