Shunga

Shunga is one of the largest villages in Zaonezhie, it`s history is calculated by centures. The landscape around is rather picturesque. The village occupys the shores of the Putkozero lake and a rocky island, where the Shunga pogost was situated (the churches of the pogost were destroyed). From the top of the rock the wide lake panorama opens . Some separate ancient buildings are well preserved in Shunga.
