Essoila

The name of the village is arised from the finish name of it`s first resident - Esse and from karelian word "la", means the acre, the place.

In the august, 26, 1995 the Worship Cross - the monument to the victims of political repressions and to fallen warriors was opened in Essoila at the old village pogost. The names of 12 guiltlessly shooted and of 8 decedent in the war natives of the village are engraved there on two plates.

1996 the church of St. Nicholas Wonderworker was built there. The initiators of building became inhabitant and workers of the local enterprises. They helped to settle the accounts.
