Tourist Information Center of the Republic of Karelia

Tourist Information Center of the Republic of Karelia (TIC RK) was established as a state institution by the Government of the Republic of Karelia. Financial and material contribution was provided by the Tacis project "Development of Cross-Border Tourism in the Russian Part of the Barents Euro-Arctic Region". Tourist Information Center provides tourism-related information and represents tourism industry of Karelia.

TIC RK performs its activities in cooperation with The State Committee of the Republic of Karelia for Youth, Physical Training, Sports and Tourism.

TIC tasks are the following:

• creating a unified database on tourist potential of Karelia;
• creating a unified database on programs and projects in tourism sector in Karelia;
• information and consultancy support in the sphere of tourist activities of Karelia;
• inter-institutional interaction;
• promoting Karelian tourist products, elaborating a uniform trade-mark;
• establishing and maintaining contacts with the travel industry businesses.

TIC represents Internet technologies, which offer citizens and guests of Karelia opportunities to get up-to-date information on leisure and tourism in Karelia:

• places of interest, historical and cultural centers in Karelia;
• travel companies of Karelia, their products and services including different types of tourism;
• popular tourist routes;
• leisure activities;
• latest tourist news in RK.

Guests of Karelia are offered Internet information and printed materials such as maps, brochures, leaflets.

TIC RK offers services both Russian and Foreign tourists.
