Ethno tour "Karelian Village"+Kizhi

If you are tired of rush and hectic city life, if you are interested in culture and traditions of other countries, if you are willing to spend some days in a calm and cozy atmosphere of our ancient Karelian village… this tour is for you!

Arrival in Petrozavodsk. Transfer from the railway station to the Traditional Karelian Restaurant. Breakfast. You will get to the totally reconstructed atmosphere and surroundings of an authentic
Karelian house with an oven, benches and embroidered towels.

City tour “Petrozavodsk-300” (architectural ensemble of the Round square(the 18th century), the Governor’s Garden, the Theatre Square (4 theatres), the Onego Lake Embankment with a unique open-air museum ofmodern avant-garde sculpture), the monument to Peter the Great.

Visit to national - art crafts shop "Karelian masters". Master - class with Karelian masters. On a choice: weaving, woodcarving, drawing. Possibility to buy souvenir very cheaply (pictures, embroidery, weaving, ceramics, wooden and stone souvenirs).

Departure of the hydrofoil to Kizhi Island – the gem of the Russian North. Excursion in the museum of wooden architecture; lunch boxes.

Returning to Petrozavodsk.

Departure to thethe Veps capital – Sheltozero

Accommodation (families). Dinner - traditional meals of veps cuisine, cooked on the ancient receipts.

Visiting the unique crimson quartzite deposit

Excursion to the Veps Ethnographic Museum,which issituated in the original farmer’s house.Acquaintance with traditions and specialties of veps culture;

Entertaining folklore concert

Russian banya with a birch broom. Tea with honey.
 

The 2-nd day: 

Breakfast in a farmer’s house .

Tour to 5 ancient Olonya villages where our guests will get acquainted with a great variety of the national culture of Olonya Karelians. Our guests will visit MEGREGA, KUITEZHA, LITTLE SEL’GA, BIG SEL’GA and VERHOVYE. In each of five villages we shall have about 30 minutes stops during which the guests will take part in dramatized shows, games and short lessons of Karelian language.

Tea with Karelian pies

About 2 hour stop in a village Big Sel’ga with excursion round the village; luncheon with Karelian food and baking; master-class with opportunity to make a doll – “a guardian sign” (a doll which protects you from evil) – yourself.

Lunch at restaurant Olonia

Transfer to the railway station. Departure.
