Its extension is 310 km. At the height of 186 meters River Njuhcha runs from Njuhchozero Lake and flows into Onego bay of the White Sea which is in 8 km from Njuhcha station.

The length of the river is 130 km, 15 meters broad in the upper reaches of the river and about 150 meters in the lower stream. Njuhcha is shallow, fleeting and with rapids: on rifts and rapids rate of movement is 12-15 km per hour, on stretch – 1,5 – 2 km per hour. The shores are covered with forests, hills alternate marshy places.
